This year’s summer fun includes 5k color runs, obstacle courses, and fun events that involve more strength and endurance.  Like most, people are not as involved and don’t know how to get started but are interested. So tired of the usual New Year’s resolutions, where most people workout in the beginning of the year, now you can start at anytime. With today’s technology you can do that right at home with no trainer, with one payment of $1.99 (apple), simply using the “Couch to 5k App”.

The “Couch to 5k” app simply trains you for a 3.1 mile run or a 5k run.  There are so many soon-to-be runners who didn’t even know they can become runners that will be able to benefit from this app. The uncomplicated app will take you from the couch to the track in only two months.  Couch to 5k lets you move from day to day but, be sure not to skip around because you want to be able to thorough in endurance.

Each day is between 20-30 minutes, only about three times a week. Not bad right? No, it is the same amount as doctor’s recommendation for exercise per week. This program is sure to get you fit and in shape as your average runner.  And when you are ready, run straight from the couch to your first 5k.

Before starting this work out, be sure to start each training session with a five-minute warm-up walk or jog. Be sure to stretch both before and after.
