No matter what your denomination, chances are, whether you're participating or not you can’t help but getting wrapped up in the holiday spirit.  It’s not just your stereotypical stuff of Hallmark lore: right after Thanksgiving, streets are in fact filled with the wonderful aroma of chestnuts roasting; city street granites shine with the reflection of the twinkling lights of displays in the evening. It’s cold, but it’s all apart of the "winter wonderland" and that bitter cold hasn’t hit yet so everyone is still in a good mood. There is nothing like the holidays and one of the best things that happens during holiday season are Christmas markets.

Historically, Christmas markets are street markets celebrating Christmas during the four weeks of Advent originating in Germany and spreading throughout the world. German Christmas markets are sights of legend but here are a few Christmas markets all over the world as shown through the eyes of Instagram users and from some of my travels!
