Toast Rio Olympics With Brazilian Cocktails!

The summer Olympics in Rio are less than a week away and the folks at Southern California's beautiful Terranea Resort have a few cocktails to get us in the Olympic spirit. The grounds at the Terranea Resort are  pretty incredible; from the golf-course,  spa, pools and amazing dining areas.  Let's do a cocktail crawl!

Traditional Caipirinha at the Lobby Bar & Terrace

  • 2 oz Leblon cachaça
  • 2 sugar cubes, half lime quartered
  • Lime wheel/ rocks

    Muddle quartered lime and 2 sugar cubes with a splash of club soda to release essence in 10 rocks glass. Fill glass with crushed ice, pour 2 oz of cachaça over the top, stir, and garnish.

 

Brazilian Sour at mar'sel

  • 2 oz Leblon cachaça 
  • .75 oz simple syrup
  • .75 oz lime juice 
  • Malbec float
  • Lime wedge/ rocks

    Add all ingredients, but malbec to shaker tin, ice and shake. Strain and pour into iced rocks glass, top with a float of malbec. Garnish with lime wedge and Luxardo cherry.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mango “Sake-rinha” at Bashi

  • 1.5 oz Leblon cachaça
  •  1 oz Tozai “Snow Maiden” nigori sake
  • .5 oz mango puree
  • .5 oz simple syrup
  • .5 oz lime juice
  • Lime wheel/ rocks

    Add all ingredients to shaker tin, ice and shake. Strain into iced rocks glass and add fresh grated nutmeg to the top, garnish with lime wheel.

Caipifruta at Nelson's

  • 2 oz Leblon cachaça
  • .5 oz Giffard strawberry liqueur
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • .5 oz simple syrup
  • Sliced strawberry and lime wedge/ rocks

    Add all ingredients to shaker tin, ice and shake. Strain into iced rocks glass and garnish with strawberry slice, and lime wedge.

  • 2 oz Leblon Cachaça
  • 1 oz Lime
  • .75 oz simple syrup
  • 3 muddled raspberries
  • 2 muddled Limes
  • 6 muddled mint leaves
  • Lime, and raspberry skewer
  • Collins

    Muddle 3-4 raspberries, and 2 limes in shaker tin. Pour cachaça, lime, and simple syrup over the top, add mint and ice. Shake and double strain into iced Collins glass. Top with club soda and garnish with mint, lime wedge, and raspberries on a skewer.
