The glory days of summer are quickly coming to a close and you'll be back on campus before you know it. Now's the time to stock up on the hair, makeup and skin products you'll need to stay gorgeous straight through Christmas break. School supply shopping just got way more fun! So to help you look as fresh as possible we have some super cool tips to get you prepped!
Deep condition your hair
If you spent your summer out in the heat, or swimming in your BFF’s pool, chances are that your hair is in dire need of a deep conditioner from the hot air and chemical overload. It’ll help to restore any moisture to your hair. However, there is such a thing as over-conditioned hair, which leaves your hair limp and lifeless. Stick to once a week on the deep conditioners.
A good exfoliator will remove any dead skin cells and make way for healthier ones. Scrubs are the best way to go when you’re trying to keep your skin fresh. Gently buff once or twice a week to reveal skin that’s totally fresh and dewy.
Clean your brushes
By cleaning your brushes, you can get rid of any bacteria, oil, or makeup build up that might cause your skin to break out. An easy way to do this is pick up a bottle of baby oil to use as a soap. It’s lightweight and gentle, so it will leave your bristles feeling super soft, but it will get the job done.
Having a mini arsenal of personal products in your can definitely makes any mid-day mishaps easier to deal with. Travel-size deodorant, extra tampons and makeup don’t take up much space, but can really come to your rescue when you’re in distress. Keep ’em in a cute (and discreet) pencil case.
Protect Your Skin
Keeping your body moisturized will help prolong real tans as well as fake ones. Dry skin cracks, making your color fade much quicker. Lather on a moisturizer after you get out of the shower. Even better if it contains SPF!
