You spend a lot of money on your hair extensions, and you’re spending a lot of time installing them. There are lots of tips and tricks to keep extensions in great shape, one of which is deep conditioning.
Deep conditioning every once in a while is a great way to make sure your extensions last as long as possible. Unlike natural hair, your extensions cannot receive oils from the scalp so it takes a little work to keep them hydrated.
To deep condition, first, wash the hair with a sulfate-free moisturizing shampoo and rinse. After squeezing out the excess water, apply a quarter size amount of deep conditioner to the extensions and distribute the product evenly, starting at the roots and working down to the tips. Use a wide-toothed comb to evenly coat the hair. The mask should be left on for at least 30 minutes then rinsed with cool water. This allows the cuticles to close which seals in the moisture for the conditioning process. A leave-in conditioner can be applied afterward if needed.
And that's it! A little extra TLC is all it takes to keep your extensions in tip-top shape!
