Stars are born, not raised. The district is no stranger to breeding entrepreneurs who grow to have a huge impact on pop culture. And yes, we take credit for all graduates from Harvard.

2. Plugged NYC, while the name may convince you to give credit to New York. Miss Tizita Balemlay was actual born and raised in Silver Spring, MD. She took her talents to New York to expand her dreams of taking over the fashion world. Since the launch in 2016, Plugged has been worn by fashion mogul Rihanna and recognized in Galore Magazine.

3. EAT. Elevate All The Time, LLC has taken DC over by storm. It started with just iPhone stickers and caps til famous slogan “if you don’t eat you die in the street” became a hashtag. Malik Jarrett has made it his business to provide guidance for the youth while promoting entrepreneurship. You can shop EAT online or catch one of the pop up shops happening almost every month.
