Fluff Fave - Janelle Monáe

Janelle Monae’s is back and better than ever! On April 27th she released her highly anticipated third album Dirty Computer. Now we have the perfect playlist to finish up spring and kick off the summer.

Fluff love individuals who express themselves in their own and unique way. Janelle Monae can be described as soulful in her artistry, brave in her lyricism and stylish with her black and white getup. Janelle has particularly favored anything black and white as a homage to her working class parents. She alludes to wearing suits as her parents wore uniforms for work. Bold color combinations like black and white can be tricky to pull off; Janelle has found a way to master this skill. Here are Fluff's top three favorite looks from Janelle Monae:

Janelle Monae, on the 2018 Grammys red carpet, is wearing Dolce & Gabbana's Spring/Summer 18 suit from their secret fashion show. Janelle still kept decorum through the tailoring of the suite, but still managed to look modern due to the beautifully detailed flowers on the side of the slacks as well as the blazer. She is sporting a slicked back pixie undercut. The ash tone blond pairs well and exudes a refreshing look to balance out the entire ensemble.

The singer is pictured wearing a Christian Siriano red two-piece with a skirt at the 2018 Vanity Fair Oscar after-party. We fell in love with this look! It was a completely different style from the dresses we are used to seeing starlets wear during award season. Christian Siriano is one of the few designers who love to cater to unique visions of many actresses and artists who dress out of the norm. From Leslie Jones to Jessica Williams and now our favorite "it" girl, Janelle Monae.

Our favorite look is when Ms. Monae graced the 2017 Oscars in this gorgeous attire designed by Elie Saab Haute Couture. This dramatic dress paired with the simple yet classic hair and makeup does not disappoint. It was her first time attending the academy awards, and she was a showstopper. Her unique style is one we will always keep an eye out for.
