Are You Living Your Best Life?

Are You Living Your Best Life?

We are sure you've heard Fluff’s favorite Cardi B song "Best Life." This catchy but relevant tune is about finally living out your dreams and happiness. Living your best life doesn't always mean fame and fortune. It's all about using your time wisely and having the courage to follow your heart and intuition. While this is easier said than done, there are many things you can do to start living your best life. It is never too late to find your purpose and pursue what your heart desire.

Speaking of purpose, how can you find it?  Determining your purpose is an ongoing task that is very challenging.  Finding your purpose is essential to living your life to the fullest.

You have to let go of the things you can’t change because they are dis-empowering. Instead, focus on the things you have the power to change.  Everything will not always go as planned, but this isn't an excuse to give up. Stay firm on your goals, but be optimistic during your journey to achieving those goals.

If you feel satisfied with your job, hobbies, and day to day activities, this is a good sign. Finding your purpose does not mean that you must have a prestigious job or lifestyle.  It just indicates that you are in a position where you are happy, and thoroughly enjoying your life. Your purpose may not be a marketable skill, maybe your mission is to help others.  The main idea is to find something that makes you feel good about yourself and your life.

Either be proactive while you wait for opportunities or go out there and create your own. The key is to be open-minded about where your journey will lead you. Try different things so you can discover what you like and what you don't like. You might learn something new about yourself.

Sometimes your skills may be put to greater use somewhere else. But, be careful not to become too comfortable and unwilling to change or adapt.

After you have pinpointed your purpose, begin making a game plan. Set your goals. Whether it’s a 5-year, 3-month, or 1- week goal, write it down and be specific. Turn your space into your inspirational haven by getting rid of things that make you unproductive and creating a vision board. Surround yourself with things that trigger you into action.

Find an inspirational friend that can support you. There is no better motivation that someone in your corner at all times. That can be family, a college friend, a mentor or coach. Including your friends on your journey will keep you driven and possibly encourage them to follow their dreams as well.

Always stay positive. It is easy to let your mind wander to a place of dread, fear, or stress.  But remember, focusing on negativity is an ongoing task. It is easier to be positive.

One mindfulness exercise to try is meditation. You can spend as little as two minutes every day, sitting quietly and reflecting. Focus on your breathing to keep your mind free from distraction while you meditate

No matter the situation, there is always a reason to be grateful. Go out there and live your life to the fullest! Why settle for anything less? You deserve nothing but the best!!!
