From September throughout November, we all become a tad bit pumpkin obsessed! We reach for pumpkin flavor drinks, desserts, and soups; the obsession has to stumble into the cosmetic market! With brands like Too Faced and Makeup Geek, both creating original palettes for the season. So with everyone under this pumpkin spell, here are two ways you can add pumpkin to your skin/hair care.

Pumpkin for Dark Spots

Need help fading away those pesky dark spots? Mix 1 tablespoon of pumpkin puree, one teaspoon honey, one teaspoon lemon juice, and one teaspoon vitamin E oil. Apply this mixture on your damp face for 30 minutes or until it dries and rinse off with lukewarm water.

Pumpkin for Dry Hair

Are your bundles in desperate need of TLC? Or should I say TLP! In a blender, add 2 cups of cooked and chopped pumpkin and one tablespoon yogurt. Then add one tablespoon coconut oil and one tablespoon honey to make a smoother mixture. Apply it to damp shampooed hair, wear a plastic shower cap, and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse off thoroughly and style as usual.

Pumpkin is a rich source of minerals, including potassium and zinc. Potassium helps in keeping hair healthy and improve re-growth. Pumpkin also contains antioxidant Vitamin A and Vitamin C to help soften and soothe the skin and boost collagen. So, what ways will you incorporate pumpkin into your beauty routine?
