Some may think " ugh, a hair mask is so costly" but we are here to tell you that not only are masks a great way to give your hair some extra love, they’re super easy to DIY. There are plenty of natural ingredients out there that work perfectly together to revitalize your dried out ‘do, most of these items, you have, already in your home. Here are four of the best homemade hair masks that will revive your hair after a day of enjoying summer living!

Banana Honey Hair Mask

Ingredients: 1 banana, 1/4 cup honey, 1/2 cup plain yogurt

Puree the banana into a smooth mixture before adding in the other ingredients to avoid any chunks that could get stuck in your hair. The banana is packed with vitamins, antioxidants, potassium and added moisture, making it perfect for helping revitalize dried-out hair. Mash the banana, then stir in the honey and yogurt, mixing well until you have a smooth yet thick consistency. Allow the mixture to soak in hair for 15-30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

Coconut Milk Hair Mask

Ingredients: 2 drops lavender oil, two tablespoons coconut milk

Coconut milk is life! It works as a natural moisturizer for your hair, particularly hair that is brittle or breaking. Mix the lavender oil into the milk, then apply the mixture from root to tip, making sure that every strand is coated. This is meant to be an overnight mask, so sleep with your hair in a shower cap to prevent it from staining your sheets, then shampoo and condition in the morning. Then Ta-Da hydrated and healthy hair!

Strawberry Hair Mask

Ingredients: 8 strawberries, two tablespoons of mayonnaise

Strawberries are super fruits! Mash up the strawberries, and mix the two ingredients into a cream before applying it to wet hair and letting it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and gawk at your healthy locks!

Avocado and Honey Hair Mask

Ingredients: 1 medium-sized avocado, two tablespoons honey

Avocado contains four different Vitamins: A, B, E, and D, along with natural oils that will also add shine and prevent hair loss. Finely puree the avocado, then stir in the honey. Let the mask sit for 15-20 minutes to absorb fully. It also works as an excellent scalp treatment, so make sure to massage the mixture into your roots to promote stimulation.
